About Purple Sword

Purple Sword Publications, LLC is a small, quiet, royalty paying publisher of genre specific fiction. Fantasy, horror, paranormal, and science fiction or speculative fiction, blended with romance in varied heat levels is our focus. By specializing in these genre blends and limiting the number of authors we represent, we are able to offer high quality stories by authors whose talent is fully realized. Our authors are chosen based on past work experiences with us, their ability to write clean, concise prose with a gripping plot and characters readers fall in love with, as well as their willingness to work hard and promote their writing. Purple Sword published its first e-book on April 1, 2009.

MISSION
It is the mission of Purple Sword to allow its authors creative freedom, and we never hope to grow beyond being able to service our authors. Our only requirement for their stories to be submitted is that they be romantic speculative fiction. Romance can be anything from sweet to highly erotic, and everything in between.

EDITORS:
Jennifer Barker
has always loved words. She studied Spanish and English in college and dreamed of either becoming a teacher or a book editor. A ten-year detour into the world of insurance derailed the teaching plans, but she spent those years honing her editing skills on insurance letters and litigation documents and in early 2010 was able to leave the corporate world to live the dream of being a full-time editor of fiction and romance. It just doesn't get any better than that. Jennifer has done freelance work for Ellora's Cave, Dreamspinner Press, Loose-Id, Carina Press, Siren Publishing, and many others.

D. Thomas Jerlo
works for many e-publishers as an editor, formatter, and cover artist. Resigning from the legal field several years ago, D. Thomas now concentrates on a writing career and supporting her fellow authors by polishing their works before publication.

Traci Markou has been an editor since 2007 with several small publishers: loveyoudivine Alterotica, Olida Publications, and the now defunct StarDust Press and Forbidden Publications. She ventured into that line of work quite by accident upon the recommendation of a fellow author, the late Carol McKenzie. Traci's experience working with new and seasoned authors has given her a unique perspective on the changes in the publishing industry. She believes in small presses and the creative freedom of expression they are able to allow their authors. In addition to running Purple Sword, she helps run the family restaurants www.thefatgreek.biz, and supports her childrens' PTA. She has an Associate's degree from Pima Community College and nine years of experience in the financial industry working for her local credit union. Traci belongs to EPIC, www.epicauthors.com, and has pledged to uphold the code of ethics for publishers listed on their site. She also belongs to the Romance Writers of America, Saguaro chapter. Traci chose the name Purple Sword for her love of the color, the fantasy genre, and because it's darn funny purple prose.

Brieanna Robertson has been doing freelance editorial work since 2006. She currently edits for four companies in addition to Purple Sword which includes Whimsical Publications and Amira Press. She is a writer, first and foremost, and enjoys helping authors make their masterpieces even better.
