WHY SHE WRITES:
Tell readers what inspires you to write and what led you to take up writing on a regular basis:
Life inspires me to write. That and the fact that I want to tell stories in different genres differently from how everyone tells them. I’ve written on a regular basis since my early twenties. I guess I’ve always done it, first as a habit then as a job once I started learning the craft. Now, it’s what I do.
What year were you first published, what was the title of that book, and what did you learn from that first work?
I was first published in May of 2009. The story was a novella called The Foodie’s Guide to Kitchen Magic (I’ve since gotten the rights back to it, put it out on my own for a year or so then ultimately pulled it from sale) What I learned? It was awesome being offered my first contract. What I also learned? I needed to learn a lot more about the craft of writing. So glad I continued that journey. My writing nowadays is much better
What do you hope fans come away with after reading your stories?
I hope my fans are able to escape the problems of their lives for a while. I hope their sense of hope is restored and they know that anything is possible no matter where they are in their lives. I hope they’re entertained and that they have smiled while reading my stories.
